Happy New Year! Wishing you lots of love, joy and happiness throughout the Year of Horse! 😀
Today is the first day of 2014 and i would like to express my thoughts about the passing year and my plan for this year. A New Year’s resolution is a promise that you make to yourself on the first day of the year but as for me, it is more like a goal that i want to achieve by the end of the year. I actually didn’t achieve a lot of things on my list during 2013 due to the circumstances. It was a struggle and stressful year indeed. I felt like i was wasting my time doing something irrational and stupid.
In 2013, there were a lot of changes both good and bad. I moved to the US to get married and be with my hubby. It was a great thing and a change of pace. What i managed to accomplish are to publish my blog posts regularly since i started in April and to finish 16 books. I partially succeeded in speeding up my drawing and colouring skills, especially with copic markers. I created not only more than 10 full-coloured artworks but also produced several decent postcards and greeting cards which i sent to my friends and family. I also opened my online shop where i can sell those postcard prints.
My 2013 Summary of Art
However, i failed to do quite a number of what i promised myself at the beginning of the year. I couldn’t find a job after received the greed card in September. I didn’t finish my book writing and had a hard time painting with watercolour. I would like to do sculpture but i didn’t even started. I neglected to exercise and spent most of my time alone inside the apartment. 😦 Anyway, i’m sure i can do better this year!
As for my resolutions and goals for 2014, i want a stable and well-balanced life. I would like to land on a job where i have enough leisure time to do what i love, as well as to keep myself healthy by regular exercise and good diet. I have so many things i want to achieve in 2014.
My New Year’s Resolutions for 2014
- To find a job related to data and infographic
- To meditate everyday and keep positive attitude
- To exercise regularly, at least 3-4 times a week
- To read more books, at least 2 books a month
- To speed up my English writing skill by blogging
- To polish my existing foreign language skills
- To finish my book about Berlin for publication
- To create more artworks with copic and watercolour
- To have at least one pet, either a cat or a dog
- To earn personalised gold card from Starbucks
I’m hoping that i can keep up with at least half of those resolutions. I will update my progress again on 1st of July! Wish me luck! 🙂
