I love crafting and DIY. I usually draw greeting cards and make gift for my friends and family. Apart from the hand-carving stamp tool kit and book binding machine (check my previous posts about them at the end of this post), i have quite a selection of tools and here they are!
My 5 favourite (other) crafting tools
1. Envelope Punch Board
I love this tool so much! It’s great for someone like me who love to draw my own greeting cards. With the punch board, i can create any envelope that will fit with my DIY card. It is very easy to use with the simple guideline printed on the board itself. I need to know my greeting card size and pick the right paper then start making an envelope and finish with glue.
2. Paper Punches
I really love them but they are a bit expensive. So, i managed to get only the ones i like most. They are pretty nice and sturdy with shape blades. I’ve got 2.5″ circle, mini tag and 2″ x 1″ ticket. I use the circle one for drawing, while the tag is good for gift shipping. As i’m always fascinated with circus, ticket punch is my favourite.
3. Gift Box Punch Board
After successful of the envelope punch board, the same company has released several new punch boards for gift bag, gift box, pillow box, and candy box. I decided to order a gift box punch board and i’m not disappointed! It can make 20 different sizes of boxes and the best thing is i don’t need any glue to assemble the box.
4. Mini Tool Kit and Magnetic Mat
This tool kit consists of brad setter and piercing tool; precision tweezers; art knife; small precision scissors and mini magnetic cutting mat with ruler. The magnetic mat is the best for me, especially for cutting lino sheet stamp. The scissors is pretty good too. It’s very sharp and gives a very precise cut. I like them all!
5. Magnetic Twist Trimmer Combo Pack
The pack comes with magnetic 15″ ruler and 7 heads: Straight (Pink), Deckle (Navy), Wavy (Yellow), Stamp (Purple), Pinking (Red), Scallop (Green), Perforate (Orange), and Scoring (Blue). They are nice but i had a hard time cutting a thick paper. They also meant to use with 18″ magnetic cutting mat but i use it with my smaller mat and it works like charm! 🙂
